National Take Back Day
Saturday, April 29
Non-medical use and abuse of prescription drugs is a health problem in the United States. Annually, approximately the same amount of people die from prescribed opioid pain relievers than all illegal drugs combined (NIDA, CDC).
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications. National Take Back Day this year is April 29th, 2017 from 10am to 2pm. You can drop off your medications at the Evanston Police Department, or find a collection site near you by visiting the DEA’s website here.
