Volunteers Needed!
Are you interested in working with youth? Volunteer for Snowflake 2018!
Snowflake 2018 will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 3:00-9:30 p.m. at Haven Middle School (2417 Prairie Ave., Evanston).
Snowflake is an event that teaches middle school students important life skills like decision-making, problem solving, and communication in fun and interactive ways. Snowflake is organized and run by high school and college students, as well as adults from the community. To make this event a success, strong facilitators and volunteers are needed!
Positions:
Adult Facilitator: Co-facilitate small group sessions. Each adult facilitator will be responsible for 10-12 middle school students throughout the event and paired with a teen facilitator. Adult facilitators for Snowflake must be at least 18 years old. All facilitators will be required to participate in a brief training with PEER Services staff and the entire Snowflake event on Friday, April 13th, from 3 – 9:30pm at Haven Middle School. Facilitators must also have an interest in working with middle school students.

Teen Facilitator: Co-facilitate small group sessions. Teen facilitators for Snowflake must be at least 16 years old. All facilitators will be required to participate in a brief training with PEER Services staff and the entire Snowflake event on Friday, April 13th, from 3 – 9:30pm at Haven Middle School. Facilitators must also have an interest in working with middle school students. Facilitators will earn 10 community service hours for attendance at the training and event. NOTE: ETHS students selected as facilitators will be excused from 8th and 9th periods and will be required to turn in a field trip form.

Volunteer: Help during set-up, registration, and/or dinner. Volunteers are also needed to help monitor hallways and dismissal.Snowflake volunteers will be needed on Friday, April 13th, from 3 – 9:30pm at Haven Middle School. Volunteers do not need to stay for the entire event, but can do so. Any time a volunteer is able to donate will be much appreciated. The available jobs are available for volunteering:
3:00 – 4:00 Event Set-up 5:00 – 7:00 Dinner/Hallway Monitor
3:00 – 4:30 Registration 7:00 – 8:15 Clean Up/Hallway Monitor
4:00 – 5:15 Hallway monitor 8:15 – 9:30 Dismissal
NOTE: Volunteers who work 4 or more hours will be provided with dinner at the event. All ETHS student volunteers will receive community service hours.
